Your pediatrician knows your child's history, medications, and allergies. We're careful with antibiotics and only prescribe them when they'll truly help. We also follow up to make sure your child is getting better. We ask families to call us first; we'll direct you to Urgent care or ER if that is a better option.
Go to the nearest emergency room or call 911 if your child:
Is struggling to breathe, has blue or gray lips, or can't speak or cry normally
Is under 3 months old with a rectal temperature of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher
Is very hard to wake, confused, or limp
Has a seizure, a serious injury, or signs of a severe allergic reaction
Dehyrdration or lack of tears while crying
Yes. We hold slots every day for sick children. Call as early as you can.
